Inquiry-informational fund of technical libraries of the railway is formed by the funds of the scientific technical library and 17 technical libraries of the railway divisions.
On January 1, 2003 the fund consisted of 600949 specimens including 500571 books (on railway transport, adjoining branches, economy, finance, law, social and fundamental sciences); 37 075 specimens of periodic editions (branch, production – practical, scientific journals, scientific-popular editions, editions of informational bodies); 21957 specimens of scientific-technical documentation; depository fund of the railway transport literature and the literature on the history of Belorussian Railway.
The inquiry-bibliographic system consists of:
- inquiry-bibliographic fund presented in traditional printed form
- system of traditional library catalogues
- system of electronic catalogue with the standard means of search.
