State Joint - Stock Company Latvijas Dzelzcels Documentation Center is the principal republican fundholder of the railway editions and documentation as well as information center, which elucidates the advanced experience and achievements of the railway transport. It is library-bibliographical, coordinating and scientifically methodical center for the branches on the biggest railway stations: Daugavpils, Rezekne, Ventspils.
- Chief tasks
Accomplishment of the informational activities, application of the modern used plant and technologies, which are used for the information’s coordination and adaptation, as well as providing specialists with the scientific-technical and economical information.
- Functions
- Acquisition, adaptation, storage and popularization of different documents and editions: books, periodical editions, standards, informational publications, translations, bibliography, advertising editions.
- Performance of the translations and foreign transport editions articles’ annotation.
- Issue of the informational editions: bulletin "Information about the new entries", "Annotated list of the translations", "Consolidated index of the entering domestic and foreign periodical editions", "List of the articles of the depositary fund", "Annotated list of the articles from the foreign editions".
- Informational servicing on specialists’ demands.
- Creation of the national transport database in accordance with the OSJD Instruction 0905/2.
- Creation of the analytical database of railway transports LATRAILDOC.
Cooperation and exchange of scientific, technical and economical information materials within the limits of OSJD.
